A Greenwich renovation where a family's art collection became the architecture
This extensive renovation and addition transformed a Greenwich, Connecticut residence into a modern, art-filled home for a young, creative family. The expanded footprint let Paul rethink how the house functions, most dramatically in the soaring new library, where custom floor-to-ceiling bookcases turn the family’s collection into part of the architecture.
The clients’ love of art drove the interior design throughout. Contemporary paintings, sculptural furnishings, and unexpected objects sit against clean architectural lines, while vivid reds, blues, orange, and softer pastels create a playful visual thread from room to room — color carrying the eye from one space to the next. Modern furnishings are balanced with whimsical moments, from the dramatic wine room to a colorful children’s space, keeping the interiors sophisticated without turning serious.
The result is a highly personal Connecticut family home: expansive yet inviting, modern but exuberant, and designed equally for art, entertaining, and everyday life.
